Turn Your Trade Experience Into a Canadian Qualification
If you have substantial hands-on trade experience outside Canada, you may not always need to start again from the beginning. Viamora assesses your experience, identifies potential gaps, organizes your evidence and supports your case with the appropriate Canadian trade authority where an experienced-worker qualification pathway is available.
Prior Experience
Your international hands-on experience may be assessed toward a Canadian qualification.
Jurisdiction Matching
Requirements vary by trade and Canadian province or territory.
Evidence Preparation
A strong case depends on verifiable experience and competency evidence.
Exam Eligibility
Where approved, experienced workers may become eligible to challenge the applicable certifying examination.
Your Experience Counts
You May Not Need to Start Your Trade Career From Zero
Many internationally experienced tradespeople assume that Canadian certification always requires completing an entire apprenticeship from the beginning. Depending on the trade and the applicable Canadian jurisdiction, an experienced worker may instead be able to demonstrate that existing skills and experience are equivalent to the required occupational standard and pursue eligibility for the applicable certifying examination.
Substantial prior hands-on experience matters. Competency across the full scope of the trade matters. Evidence must usually be verifiable. Requirements differ by trade and authority. Formal education alone is not the only evidence. Years of experience alone do not automatically establish competency.

Why It Matters
A Canadian Qualification Can Open More Than One Door
Professional Recognition
A Certificate of Qualification demonstrates that the holder has met the applicable Canadian trade authority's certification requirements.
Career Opportunities
Certification may strengthen professional credibility and access to trade opportunities, subject to employer and jurisdiction requirements.
Business & Contracting
For appropriate trades and jurisdictions, recognized qualifications may support professional credibility when building or operating a trade-based business.
Broader Canadian Opportunities
Canadian trade certification can be relevant to certain federal or provincial economic pathways, depending on the occupation and all other applicable program requirements.
A Certificate of Qualification can be relevant to certain Canadian economic programs, but certification and immigration eligibility are separate matters. Viamora does not provide immigration or legal advice.
