Eligibility and Financial Requirements
The applicant must be lawfully staying in Georgia and must prove genuine entrepreneurial activity. The business must normally demonstrate annual turnover of at least GEL 50,000 for each foreign national seeking a work residence permit. The threshold is GEL 35,000 per applicant where the enterprise is an educational institution or medical facility.
The applicant must also demonstrate monthly income from Georgian entrepreneurial activity of at least five times the current subsistence minimum for the average consumer. If business documents do not establish the income, personal bank funds may be considered, calculated for the requested permit period. Because the official subsistence figure changes, the current Geostat amount should be checked immediately before filing.
There is no separately published minimum investment or net-worth amount. However, the enterprise must be properly funded, operational, and able to meet the turnover and income tests.
Business Registration and Business Plan
The applicant must provide evidence of entrepreneurial activity in Georgia. In practice, this normally requires registration as an individual entrepreneur or participation in a registered Georgian enterprise, together with tax and turnover evidence. A company should therefore be established before the residence application is filed.
A formal business plan is not expressly listed as a universal residence-permit document. Viamora can assist with the business concept, market research, competitor analysis, operating model, investment allocation, revenue forecasts, cash flow, implementation planning, and supporting commercial documentation.

Application Process
Depending on nationality and lawful entry status, the applicant may first require the appropriate Georgian immigration visa. Georgian law identifies the D1 category for qualifying labour and entrepreneurial activity. The residence application then requires the application form, passport, proof of lawful stay, proof of entrepreneurial activity, income evidence, Revenue Service turnover evidence, information on foreign workers, an electronic photograph, and payment of the fee.
Applications can be initiated online or submitted through the responsible Georgian public service authority. The permit is generally issued initially for at least six months and no more than one year, with extensions possible within the statutory temporary-residence limit.
Family and Long-term Residence
Eligible family members may apply for family reunification, subject to relationship and financial evidence. Long-term or permanent residence is not automatic. Current law provides a separate permanent-residence pathway after the required period of lawful temporary residence, subject to the rules then in force.
Representation
Self-representation is permitted. Georgia does not publish a separate licensed immigration-consultant profession comparable to Canada's RCIC system. Legal advice and representation should be obtained from a lawyer authorized to practise under Georgian law. Viamora provides business planning, commercial preparation, and administrative support.
